Charles H. Thornton, PhD, PE, Chairman & CEO, Charles H. Thornton & Company, LLC and Founding Principal, Thornton Tomasetti

Charles Thornton spent over 40 years with Thornton Tomasetti and its predecessor firms. During his tenure, he provided the leadership to allow the firm to grow from a 50-person local firm to a 700-person, global engineering firm with gross revenues over $100,000,000. Dr. Thornton has been recognized for his introduction of both innovative engineering solutions and management strategies. Since January 2005, Dr. Thornton has formed Charles H. Thornton and Company LLC, a management consulting firm, Thornton Termohlen Group, LLC, an industrialized systems builder of mid to high rise buildings, STRAAM, (Structural Risk Assessment and Management), a structural health management system for assessing the condition of structures and has joined the Board of Directors for a start up company, DCN-USA. Additionally, Dr. Thornton is the founder of the ACE Mentor Program of America.
